Riccardo Gerbino

Percussionist enchanted by the sound of the tabla, sideman and producer based in Catania, Sicily. Graduated in Extra-European Musical Traditions (Indological) at the A. Pedrollo Conservatory of Vicenza, he studied Latin percussion with Rosario Jermano and Arabic percussion with Mohamed Fares. He keeps deepening the study of tabla with Pandit Sankha Chatterjee and Sri Amit Chatterjee. 
He took part in numerous festivals in Italy and abroad: Art Stays 2012, Ptuj, Slovenia; Sete Sóis Sete Luas 2007, Portugal; Medvoices Fest 2005, Crete; Devotional Music Festival 2004, Istanbul; Journées Théåtrales de Carthage 2003, Sidi Bou Said, Tunis; Rossini Opera Festival 2002, Pesaro; Womad 2001, Reading, UK; 2nd World Music Festival 2000, Belo Horizonte, Brazil; Womad Womad 2000, Palermo; 1st World Music Festival 1998, Belo Horizonte, Brazil; Clásico Theater Festival 1997, Isla Margarita, Venezuela. 
In addition to all the projects he co-founded, first of all Dounia on which he has been working since 1996, and Luftig, Pocket Poetry Orchestra, Quattro Canti and RAMTRIP, he has collaborated in studio and live sessions with musicians of various musical genres, such as: Luiza Brina, Mannarino, Eyal Maoz, Gianni Gebbia, Marta Collica, Hugo Race, Sepiatone, Amato Jazz Trio, Cecilia Pitino, Carlo Muratori, Juri Camisasca, Carmen Consoli, Brando, Rita Pavone and many more…
