Author of Moviti Ferma (2020) and Cuttuni e lamé. Storie streuse di una canta storie “Cotton and lamé. Bizarre stories of a storyteller” (2017), with the artistic production of Puccio Castrogiovanni and the participation of the famous frame drums player Alfio Antico.
Moviti Ferma, awarded at the pregious Targhe Tenco 2020, is a choral album, originated in Sicily and reflects the creativity of a land that resists and pulsates with life through music.
Eleonora Bordonaro is interested in the rediscovery of the precious poetic heritage in the Gallo Italic language of San Fratello, Messina, which is the fusion of different dialects of Northern Italy at the time of the Norman domination of Sicily during the Middle Age. In the exploration of the linguistic “islands” where these ancient languages are still spoken and isolated in defined areas in Sicily, she took part in the Skanderband project, which re-elaborates the Arbereshe repertoire.
Since 2008 she is leading voice of the Italian Popular Orchestra of the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, directed by the ethnomusicologist Ambrogio Sparagna.
In 2013 she recorded La Custodia del Fuoco with the Majarìa Trio, in which the poems of the nineteenth-century collections of Lionardo Vigo and Giuseppe Pitrè are rearranged in an ethno-jazz key.
Took part on the Italian premiere of the John Adam’s opera I was looking at the ceiling and then I saw the sky in Auditorium Parco della Musica with the participation of Davids Moss and Satyricon of Bruno MAdena at the Puccini Festival.
She founded the “Casa Museo del Cantastorie di Paternò”, production and creation center of the narration art. She sang in original film soundtracks, documentaries and art performances including Mine Vaganti by Ferzan Ozpetek, Crime Novel by Stefano Sollima, The double hour by Giuseppe Capotondi, The Sicilian girl by Marco Amenta.
